VAE Board

Suzanne Thomas

Suzanne received her BFA degree from Michigan State University in 1973 and went on to work as a graphic artist (before the days of computer graphics) until she had children, after which she did occasional freelance work while raising her family. Suzanne now works as a professional fine artist, exhibiting her work and entering competitions locally and regionally. She is an exhibiting artist member of VAE, and a member of the Pastel Society of NC and the Southeastern Pastel Society. She is also a member of the Art Alliance of Raleigh (a group of professional women artists) and participates in the annual Wake Forest Area Artists' Studio Tour. Her work has been purchased by individuals and corporations and has won many awards.

Since moving to the Triangle area in 1996, Suzanne has actively volunteered with the arts community, primarily with Visual Art Exchange, serving on its board from 1996-1999 (as board chair for two of those years) and again as a current board member. During the years when she has not been on the VAE board she has continued to actively volunteer with the organization.
