Artist Statement: Nancy Lange

Many areas of my life have affected my choice of subject matter in my paintings. As a child I hiked with my father, learning to appreciate the serenity of nature and wildlife. During my teenage years I spent many days basking in the sun on the Carolina shores enjoying the ocean breezes and admiring the beauty of the majestic ocean. After becoming a wife and mother, I have found love expressed through a touch, a smile, a tear, or a simple expression.

I find that painting lets me express myself spiritually and emotionally, focusing on the inspiration that life has to offer.

Venue information: Duke Raleigh Hospital is located at 3400 Wake Forest Road in Raleigh, just north of I-440. Enter the hospital through the main entrance (near the gift shop) and continue through the corridor straight ahead. The VAE Community Exchange Exhibit is located in this main hallway.
