Artist Statement

Study of the landscape provides me with endless inspiration. It could be the light that captures my interest, or the shadows or color. I am energized by experiencing and embracing these physical elements, and during the painting process this passion is transferred to my version of the truth on canvas. I load my palette with rich oil paint, and usually start and finish each painting in one long session, so each painting session is like an animated conversation or a dramatic or musical performance.

Venue information: Cameron Village Regional Library is located in the Cameron Village Shopping Center at 1930 Clark Avenue in Raleigh. The VAE Community Exchange Exhibit is in the quiet study room in the front left corner of the second floor (if you are facing the building from the front exterior).
