About the Jury
Tom Grubb, Executive Director, Fayetteville Museum of Art
A North Carolina native, Tom is currently the Executive
Director of the Fayetteville Museum of Art, Fayetteville, North Carolina. He
received a Master of Fine Arts degree from East Carolina University and B.S.
degrees in political science and history from Appalachian State University.
His diverse professional background includes teaching math in the public
school system for five years as well as working as a sea captain in the
North Atlantic. His experiences at sea are the inspiration for his unique
artwork, in which he explores time and space. His work is in collections and
museums in the United States and abroad.
Louis St Lewis, Artist
Louis St. Lewis: Named "Best in the Triangle" ten times by Spectator/
Independent magazine, is noted for his innovative collage,
assemblage and experimental media. He has been reviewed numerous times by
the International magazine ARTPAPERS and has been featured in ARTFORUM as
well as AMERICAN ART COLLECTOR. His works are in several notable collections
including the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, The New Orleans Museum of Art,
The Morris Museum of Art and the Masur Museum of Art. In addition to his
studio work, St.Lewis also writes the monthly column Artist-at-Large for
Metro Magazine.
Jane Tyndall, Director, Tyndall Galleries
Jane Shuping Tyndall has been an active member of the Triangle
arts community for 30 years. She is the owner and director of Tyndall
Galleries in Chapel Hill, which represents artists from North Carolina and
the Southeast. Tyndall has served on the Board of Directors of the Carrboro
ArtsCenter and worked on Durham Arts Council and Durham Art Guild
committees. She has also served on the Advisory Board of the Duke Cancer
Patient Support Program and contributes to the DooR to DooR arts program at
UNC Health Care.
