RALEIGH EN PLEIN AIR
Opens May 7,2010

call for artists
We are inviting the painters of the VAE Plein Air painting group (and only the VAE group) to partake in a show of paintings from around Raleigh. The show will be on display at the Raleigh City Museum. Please submit only paintings that were painted in Raleigh and the immediate surrounding areas. Historic areas are of significant interest to the museum, so places that are "Raleigh-recognizable" that the VAE have painted in the past that are great examples are: Yates Mill, Moore Square, JC Raulston Arboretum, Joslin Gardens, (a private garden), Shelly Lake, Lake Johnson, Cup O Joe, Bungalows on Gaston Street & Hinsdale St., Rose Garden Raleigh Little Theatre, Fred Fletcher Park, and Umstead Park. You may use either paintings you create specifically for this exhibition, or ones that you have done in Raleigh in the past.
how to enter Submissions are due to the museum by April 9, 2010. Selected artists will be notified April 12, and pieces are due to the museum by April 30. The show will open with a First Friday reception on May 7, 2010. The show will run for 3 months.
$10 submission fee per piece. You may submit your piece by .jpg in an email or by dropping off a disk at the RCM. Email entries to
