The artSPARK gallery will feature artwork from local artists in an empty space and in various storefronts on the festival grounds. The artSPARK gallery is open to 2D and 3D artists working in any media. View the featured artists!

Street Painting
The 11th annual Raleigh Street Painting event will be held on Fayetteville Street as a part of SPARKcon. Visual Art Exchange produces the festival, which last year had a record number of artists (over 400!) chalking for an intense 27 hours and transforming the street into a work of art. 10,000 visitors came to watch the artists and participate in the many creative (and free!) components of the festival including People's Choice voting, The Scrap Exchange, KidsCHALK, a weaving wall, free face painting and more.

Experimental Video Lounge
Single screen projections, video sculpture and installation works will all be exhibited by local experimental artists!

Digital Gallery, In The Street Galleries and Showcases
A chance for the whole community to see the work of a variety of local artists (including you!) in windows, galleries, projected on walls, etc. We're going to turn the street into a giant outdoor gallery!

POD Installation Project
Artists (Jenny Eggleston, Andre' Leon Gray, Michael Webster, Jeff Bell and Seo Eo) will be creating temporary installations in moving PODS (Portable On-Demand Storage). The artists will work on their projects at the POD company site for a few weeks and then the units will be transported to Fayetteville Street for SPARKcon!

Barrel Monster Installation
Noted guerilla Artist Joe Carnevale will build a new Barrel Monster for SPARKcon. Look for the 17 foot tall orange and white construction barrels to see Joe’s dinosaur creature at Hargett and Fayettevelle Streets. You can’t miss it!
Barrels will be provided by Hamlett Associates (the same construction company that “provided” barrels for the original Barrel Monster!)

Astract Artists
Notable group of regional and international abstract artists (Marianne Conti Burt, Allen Clapp, Debbie Crawford, Juan Di Giulio, Larry James, John McFadden, Sys Oppenlander, Connie Pappalardo, Juley Striegel Reider, Carol Joy Shannon, Mary Storms, and Rebecca Worters) will be painting live, with an ongoing silent auction of their works.
